Project Aldous
Senior Sound Designer·Moon Rover Games·October 2024 - December 2025
As a one-person audio team on Project Aldous, an Unreal Engine 5 co-op shooter, I made the strategic decision to use native UE5 audio instead of middleware.
I authored all the sound and music, built the complete audio architecture from scratch, developing many major systems that handled everything from beat-synced music transitions to spatialized multiplayer dialog.
Key Highlights
- Led UI/UX audio overhaul, migrated UI to MVVM + Common UI architecture
- Weapon Audio System: Decoupled RPM, frame-independent modular firing audio
- Submix Modulation Framework: Gameplay-driven audio processing (health-based LPF, etc.)
- Multiplayer Voiceover System: Spatialized co-op dialog between player characters
- Quartz Music System: Beat-synced transitions, dynamic layer add/remove, parameter automation
